For each publication to PBIS:
- Slicers are set to default
- Filters are removed or set to default if not needed
- Start / Main tab is selected
- Search text in all slicers is removed
PBI Quality Check
Follow these to score a perfect 11/11.
Use it as a check for each of your designs.
How much do you score?
- Background created and stored in Corel.com
- Ensure the client’s logo appears on at least one (overview) page (preferably top-left or top-center).
- Use a 720 × 1400 resolution (also set this in the Power BI page size).
- Format all fixed visual components in the background
- Color theme (.json) is used
- Identify the 3 main brand colors from the client’s website.
- Use https://coolors.co/ to generate 3–4 additional colors.
- Make sure the palette includes at least one green, red, and grey.
- Store in git folder

- Use the main (dark) brand color for the background together with
#F7F7F7. - Use accent colors for charts or key highlights.
- Keep the palette small, consistent, and high-contrast.
- Use colors to guide attention (not decorate), and avoid “rainbow visuals.”

- Use formatting only when it improves understanding.
- Apply clear signs for direction: green/red arrows for % changes, green/amber/red dots for performance levels.
- Use the same formatting logic across all pages.
- Keep it clean — max 2–3 formatted columns per table/matrix.
- UX is clean and intuitive
- Place the date filter at the top-right and keep all filters together at the top.
- If you use more than 2 field parameters, position them on the left so users see how they influence the report.
- Maintain consistent spacing, alignment, and layout across pages to reduce cognitive load.
- Visual Interactions are applied consistently
- Test all filter and highlight behavior between visuals.
- Only use highlight when it clearly helps (e.g., few categories).
- Page names are according to best practices
- Confirm the preferred language (English/Dutch/German).
- Avoid repetition (e.g., report “Purchase” → page “Overview,” not “Purchase Overview”).
- Header icons are removed (except for chart visuals)

- Naming convention of Workspace, Semantic Model and Visuals pbix are double-checked
- Connections are configured (for semantic models)
- Refresh is tested
- RLS is configured and tested
